'English Gyani' is a project designed to enhance English comprehension, reading and spoken English skills, particularly for individuals who face barriers to accessing traditional English learning materials or institutions. It addresses the growing demand for English proficiency in employment and career advancement opportunities.
The lessons in 'English Gyani' are categorized into key areas to improve vocabulary, grammar, and sentence construction. These are the foundational elements of English comprehension. In addition, the platform also focuses on reading skills, covering factors such as pronunciation, stress, and intonation to help learners convey meaning effectively when speaking. Emphasis is placed on fluency, expressiveness, and the ability to speak English clearly and confidently.
'English Gyani' is different from traditional spoken English schools in its ability to offer personalized, real-time feedback. Through voice interaction, learners can engage with lessons as they would in a classroom, receiving individualized guidance and support.
Objective:
Our mission is to empower individuals with essential English language skills through accessible, interactive, and personalized learning resources. The initiative focuses on enhancing vocabulary, grammar, reading, and spoken English proficiency. By breaking traditional learning barriers, we aim to build confidence in communication and equip learners with the tools needed for career advancement and personal growth in an increasingly English-centric world.
Background and Motivation:
Despite the linguistic diversity in India, English serves as a common language connecting people in the workplace. However, a significant percentage of Indian graduates are considered unemployable due to inadequate English language skills. Research shows that proficiency in English not only enhances employability but also increases hourly wages. While spoken English is a crucial factor for securing good jobs and achieving financial growth, the majority of students and employees struggle with it.
One primary reason for this gap is that only a small percentage of students receive education in English-medium schools. Although several spoken English schools exist, many individuals face challenges in attending these programs due to physical or demographic barriers. To address these issues, numerous English learning apps have been developed. However, surveys indicate that most of these apps provide only general feedback, lacking detailed insights on pronunciation and fluency.
This growing demand for effective spoken English learning solutions has led to the creation of English Gyani, a platform designed to bridge this gap.
